When is an air-to-water heat pump a good option?
It is especially suitable for houses with water-based heat distribution, such as radiators or underfloor heating. It can replace or support oil heating, water-based electric heating or other expensive heating.
When replacing old oil heating, an air-to-water heat pump is often a particularly cost-effective solution. Oil consumption is removed or greatly reduced, heating costs fall, and in a suitable house the payback period can start from about 3 years.
If the house has only direct electric heating and no water-based distribution, the change may require more work. In that case the whole system should be assessed on site.
If your home has direct electric heating, we can carry out a full heating renovation: design a water-based heat distribution system and install the required radiators so an air-to-water heat pump can be used properly.
